Associate Director, Marketing
Ardelyx is a publicly-traded commercial biopharmaceutical company founded with a mission to discover, develop and commercialize innovative first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx’s first approved product for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) is available in the United States and Canada. Ardelyx is developing XPHOZAH® (tenapanor), a novel product candidate to control serum phosphorus in adult patients with CKD on dialysis, which has completed three successful Phase 3 trials.
Associate Director, Marketing
The Associate Director, Marketing, will contribute and lead key initiatives in support of the US strategic and tactical plans, across both HCP and patient channels. This position requires a highly motivated individual who can effectively work in a fast-paced environment and has a solution-oriented mindset. The Associate Director, Marketing is responsible for collaborating with multiple cross-functional stakeholders, including but not limited to Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Regulatory, Commercial Operations, Legal, and Commercial leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Creation and implementation of innovative HCP and patient marketing strategies and tactics
- Manage relationships with marketing vendors and agencies
- Serve as the National and Local Congress Lead, responsible for pulling through HCP brand strategy and promotional messaging in congress channel
- Assist with KOL engagement strategy and execution
- Creation of Speaker Bureau and Peer-to-Peer content development and logistical oversight including speaker training and program analytics
- Oversee marketing budget, making trade off decisions regarding the marketing mix, and ensure all marketing programs and campaigns support overall strategy, are executed effectively with a strong ROI, and are within budget
- Develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders to ensure success of cross-functional initiatives and long-range plans
- Work closely with sales and sales leadership team to understand market challenges and provide/adapt strategies, tools, training, and messages to drive success
- Assist with the development and assessment of key brand goals / brand performance metrics
Requirements:
- BA/BS, MBA a plus
- 10+ years marketing experience with substantial healthcare/pharma/biotech
- Launch experience a plus
- Digital marketing experience a plus
- Gastroenterology experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to think outside the box
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Combination of strong strategic thinking with ability to execute tactical plans
- Ability to work well in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with significant autonomy
- Strong communication and presentation skills to interface with cross-functional partners and senior management
- Ability to effectively and consistently execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding goals and objectives
- Ability to travel as required to meet business needs (~30%)
Work Environment:
- Corporate office based (in Boston area) or remote-based position with regular travel to Ardelyx corporate offices.
