Clinical High Risk for Psychosis (CHRP) Supported Education & Employment Specialist

General Function:
Responsible for providing Supported Education and Employment Services within the Clinical High Risk for Psychosis (CHRP) grant program by assisting clients to obtain and maintain educational or employment placements that are consistent with their vocational goals.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social services or related mental health field – requirement
- 1+ Years’ experience in social services or mental health field, prefer prior directly related experience - requirement

- Must have or be willing to obtain CPR certification
- Demonstrate self-motivation and excellent communication skills including detail-oriented written communication
- Willing to learn, highly flexible and skilled in networking among agencies and individuals
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all clients, AHS employees and community you interact with as an AHS employee
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Engage clients to support and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive education or employment
- Develops an individual employment and/or education plan with consumers. Incorporates input from mental health team and family members, with permission.
- Discuss clients’ preference for disclosure of psychiatric status to employers or educational placements
- Develop and maintain positive community relationships for the purpose of matching individuals to jobs or education programs in their communities
- Provide education and support to employers as agreed upon by clients, which may include negotiating job accommodations and follow-along contact by the SEES with the employer
- Maintain documentation, records and reports as established by the agency, SAMHSA, CHRP, and IPS fidelity scales, etc.
- Participate in on-call rotation and be available 24/7 during their on-call week to CHRP clients who may be experiencing a mental health crisis
- Spend 65% or more of scheduled work hours in the community
- Provide transportation for clients as needed to assist with achieving vocational goals
- Provide all services in keeping with Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) and CHRP fidelity standards
- Document contact notes, meetings and monthly progress reports
- Provide on the job training and coaching to individuals at their job sites
- Other duties may be assigned by supervisor(s) to meet the needs of the consumer and AHS.
Shift Availability:
- (1) Full-Time: M/Tu/Th: 8:00am–4:30pm; W: 8:00am-5:30pm; F 8:00am-3:30pm
