Criminal Justice Associate

Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Associate/Scientist to support research and evaluation of criminal justice in our integrated health portfolio. The candidate will apply general and specialized knowledge of principles and concepts of public health and criminal justice to conduct planning, design, and implementation of technical projects. They will also serve on the client contact team translating client needs and/or objectives into specific deliverables.

This person will work on the Department of Justice Office and Programs projects and with other federal, state and foundation funded projects addressing criminal justice and public health focusing on policy-driven research and evaluation of key initiative and programs. Particular interest will be paid to those candidates with experience in research and evaluation of criminal justice programs and with a career history of research in these areas.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex components of a large project or series of smaller projects with responsibility for project deliverables and client relations. Candidates will manage complex scientific/technical components of large projects or series of smaller projects with responsibility for the application of advanced methods and techniques in public health settings.
  • Work as part of the justice team in identifying new markets and proposal efforts in accordance with the Division's business plan. Make scientific/technical contributions to sales and proposal efforts in accordance with the business development plan.
  • Maintain an industry presence in justice and public health arenas by publishing in peer reviewed journals and/or by presenting at annual conferences and meetings.
  • Collaborate with peers to identify new research approaches and potential markets for those services

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree + Seven years of relevant experience, or PhD + Four years of relevant experience
  • This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $91,408.75 to $146,254.01 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
