Cytoprep Surgical Bench Technician

Job Description:


Position Summary:
Performs a variety of task & technical procedures that result in the creation of microscopic slide preparations including: Specimen collection & triage, specimen processing, routine staining and special specimen preparation. Performs a variety of tasks associated with Pathology surgical bench assisting including: specimen collection and triage, assisting the pathologist or pathologists assistant and specimen accessioning. Operates and maintains departmental instruments. Maintains records & documentation required to manage the daily workflow and provide QC/QA monitors. Demonstrates interpersonal skills required to successfully perform as a team member in a constantly changing environment. Maintains confidentiality regarding all phases of laboratory work and findings.
