Demand Planning Analyst

Position Summary:
Bio-Techne is looking for a Demand Planning Analyst in our Minneapolis, MN office. This individual is responsible to gather, analyze trending of inventory in support of replenishment levels as well as a key contributor in the Sales Inventory & Operations (SIOP) process. This individual will also work cross-functionally with other analysts.
The nature of the work is highly analytical and organized. High performing analysts are independent, detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills. Analyst must be comfortable with ambiguity, capable of digging into big data, presenting results, and understanding the key drivers of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides detailed assessment of status of Finished Goods (FG), Work in Process (WIP) and Raw Materials (RM) inventory trends to department leaders.
- Dynamically adjust ROP levels based on established algorithms to support on-time delivery commitments.
- Engage with Business Analyst in IT and Finance to optimize trend analysis with Power BI system.
- Assess and recommend adjustments to algorithms used for setting ROP, A/B/C inventory classifications and safety stock setting to continuously improve service level performance.
- Provide root cause analysis and corrective action options to department leaders when key performance indicator objectives are tending down.
- Assign SKU ranking and ensure we are consistently healthy on A ranked materials
- Manage inventory levels to ensure we are within limits and work closely with sales to find outlets for excess and obsolete inventory
- Assist in the preparation of Executive SIOP materials to provide global visibility to key product, demand, supply, capacity, service and performance areas.
- Track SIOP process metrics and assist in the preparation of Executive SIOP materials to provide visibility to key demand, supply, capacity, service and finance performance areas.
- Maintain master data in AX and other systems, including re-order points, stocking strategies and ATP/Lead Time settings.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and represent supply chain and operations interests.
- May be required to collaborate with other departments and manager to troubleshoot and complete projects.
- Train on new data management techniques and software to stay current with best practices.
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics AX, Power BI, and other data sources to collect and maintain data.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance with the job.
- Demonstrates EPIC values in daily work.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Position requires a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent with 2+ years in an inventory analytical capacity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge and skills in Excel advanced functions.
- Attention to detail, organization, and data analysis skills are required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Power Point are required.
- Experience using Power BI is preferred.
