Accounts Receivable Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position is responsible for the management of various aspects of Accounts Receivable administration and effective and timely overall execution by direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage month-end close procedures and execution around accounts receivable including providing insights into DSO metrics and bad debt reserves
  • Lead, coach, and train team members and develop skillsets needed to ensure consistent achievement of department goals and key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • Collaborate internally with IT and Business partners to resolve issues impacting Accounts Receivable balances
  • Ensure regular and effective reporting of key performance indicators (KPI's) and activities; proactively identify problem areas using analytical tools and propose solutions to minimize risk
  • Support the development and implementation of project-based initiatives of the Company that create process improvements and/or function changes to departmental processes
  • Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results
  • Maintain relationships with high-level customers via phone and email with an emphasis on a frictionless customer experience
  • Escalate and work directly with Sales teams to resolve any service disputes resulting in past due AR balances
  • Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned
  • Develop and implement AR standard operating policies, including the extension of collection procedures
  • Evaluate processes to ensure the department scales as the Company grows
  • Lead testing efforts related to system enhancements in Oracle
  • Assist internal and external auditors in their examination of accounting records related to accounts receivable
  • Experience with setup of bank and/or credit card processes

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • 6+ plus years of work experience in Accounts Receivable or other financial risk management capacity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Certified Public Accounting designation (CPA), preferred
  • Experience supervising a team of multiple direct reports
  • Proficiency in Oracle preferred

  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions with integrity and creatively problem-solve
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deliver on multiple priorities and consistently meet time sensitive deadlines
  • General knowledge of bankruptcy laws and related application
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial sales processes and related policy/trade terms, Accounts Receivable, and End-to-End Order-to-Cash processes
  • Understanding of local, channel, and business-specific commercial practices and internal controls
  • Team oriented and collaborative, able to work with internal teams within the department, other functional areas within the Company, external business partners and our customers.
  • Driven, proactive and seeks continuous improvement to innovate, increase efficiency, and ensure policy compliance
