Position Overview:

ANSER is seeking a Correspondence Manager to provide support to the US Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) under the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness & Response (ASPR) within the Office of Strategy, Policy, Planning, And Requirements (SPRR). The person in this role will work onsite at L’Enfant Plaza in Washington, DC.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in technical writing and editing of project documentation and deliverables.
  • Successfully create and deliver professional level correspondence both internal to ASPR and with stakeholders.
  • Manage media inquiries and coordinate with Innovation and Industrial Base Expansion (IBx) and/or ASPR communications and external affairs team, as appropriate.
  • Develop daily COVID-19 Testing Talking Points and distribute to internal stakeholders.
  • Review draft internal and external communications for the IBx for alignment with relevant policies to include routine newsletters to state laboratory stakeholders, communication plans and FAQs for new programs, email responses to stakeholder inquiries, including media requests.
  • Work closely with the ASPR Communications Lead to coordinate policy announcements and other external communications.
  • Review and revise SOPs to reflect evolving strategies and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience within public correspondence as well as technical/scientific writing.
  • Candidate must provide documentation to substantiate fully vaccinated status against the COVID 19 virus.

Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Graduate degree or advanced level education.
  • HHS experience.
