Production Artist
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Design Production Artist is to design marketing materials and perform modifications as needed, electronically rework, create and at times build various print and digital projects in accordance with project specifications. Must be creative and have the ability to multitask on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This includes, but is not limited to, art creation and/or modification, data entry, image manipulation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Provide graphic production support for a variety of projects – responsible for finishing and providing layouts and final files for print and digital mediums
- Support department in other graphic production work
- Assist in preparing graphic file for outside suppliers
- Coordinate and manage the maintenance of design files and image library, including processing new images
- Collaborate and partner closely with marketing specialists/marketing and creative managers and cross functional team to produce mechanical files, with all specifications needed for print and digital to be delivered on time and on budget
- Work with brand standards and guidelines
- Propose creative concepts for on-going and new projects
- Create layout comps and presentation materials as requested
- Provide proofs for approval, and make corrections and modifications to proofs as requested
- Learn project management system and assist in managing projects; actively and effectively manage timelines and deliverables on multiple projects simultaneously, some with short turnaround times
- Work efficiently and demonstrate the ability to perform well and remain organized under tight deadlines within estimated budgets
- Act as a liaison between team and prepress
- Proactive approach, demonstrating through actions such as anticipating potential problems and obstacles to project success, communicating concerns and developing solutions, assist in finding efficiencies for the department
- Stay current on graphic trends

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant Marketing experience
- Proficiency in all Mac-based, industry-standard software programs including, not limited to: Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, Bridge, Lightroom, Microsoft Office and Acrobat
- Knowledge of the Windows platform
- Knowledge of creating and working with templates and style sheets; including page formatting of copy, placing photos and artwork; producing multiple versions
- Knowledgeable in a variety of digital, print materials and methods
- Knowledgeable of printing standards and methods of prepress production to ensure designs can be produced for print delivery
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong proofreading skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Strong organizational skills, excellent time management skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- General understanding and knowledge of e-marketing vehicles and specifications
- General advertising, marketing and media terminology and processes
- Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous Medical Device industry experience
- Understanding of regulatory issues and labeling requirements for medical device products useful
