Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is seeking a Senior Learning & Development Specialist to join our team!
The Senior Learning & Development Specialist will devise learner-centered trainings using a blended approach (classroom, virtual, etc.), industry standard instructional design practices, and adult learning theory. Classroom and virtual facilitation of these programs is an integral part of this role. In addition, this role will be involved in conducting needs analyses with lines of business and measuring the effectiveness of the Company’s training offerings.
Responsibilities (Essential):
- Delivers formal and informal learning solutions in a manner that is both engaging and effective. Creates a positive learning environment by incorporating a variety of learning methodologies which align solutions with course objectives, learner needs, and business outcomes.
- Utilizes both in-house and third party training solutions which include a blended approach to learning.
- Assists VP, Learning & Development Manager with third party vendor management.
- Produces instructional materials by working with subject matter experts to gather information and understand policies, procedures, systems or skills requiring instruction or development. Deliverables include (but are not limited to): job aides, templates, facilitator guides, participant guides, and presentations.
- Determines and writes effective learning objectives and organizes into logical sequences based on needs analysis results.
- Measures effectiveness of training programs using various feedback methods and revises curriculum based on results and evaluations.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that product, process, sales, service regulatory, and financial institution knowledge are maintained.
- Enthusiastically support the Bank’s Brand Behaviors.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements, such as Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act.
- Comprehend and adhere to federal banking regulations in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in organizational communication, instructional design/technology, education or business.
- Strong experience and understanding of Learning Management Systems. A thorough understanding of training methodologies and best practices (ADDIE, SAM, Agile, etc.), including all aspects of adult motivation. Ability to develop blended curricula and solutions (i.e. instructor based, eLearning, micro learning, etc.).
- Experience with banking, Jack Henry, and Articulate Storyline (or similar tool) highly desired.
