About the Role:
Aura is looking for an experienced Leader for our Business Analytics Team. The Director of Business Analytics sets the vision and strategy for how the organization uses business and customer data to drive financial and business decisions. This leader drives the development and adoption of instrumentation, tools and processes that help us better understand how we measure success, what metrics help drive us forward and where we should invest. The Director of Business Analytics leads a team of Data Analysts and works in partnership with the BI, Marketing, and Customer Operations to ensure that the business is equipped with the insights and data framework needed to build an outstanding customer experience.

This role requires significant cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Support with a goal of centering the entire organization around a data-driven, concrete understanding of our business. Your main focus will be around building our data warehouse and driving insight from this warehouse to solve big business problems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Growth: Grow the Business Analytics team in talent development to meet the needs of our fast-paced company with an appetite for practical insights.
  • Lead, develop and grow the product analytics team, driving immediate and long-term impact on how we measure and analyze product performance across our go-to-market channels.
  • Data accuracy and thoughtful analysis are of paramount importance. As the leader of this team, you are responsible for ensuring that all analysts can consistently deliver high-quality, concrete analysis.
  • Create an environment that develops accountability and cross-training and minimizes unnecessary steps.

Analytics Execution, Reporting & Communication:

  • Lead the design, execution, and analysis of our data warehouse to ensure consistent and accurate use of data across the company.
  • Defines a Business Intelligence Reporting strategy to showcase key areas of opportunity for customers.
  • Responsible for the ongoing, in-depth analysis and distribution of Key Performance Indicators and translating key insights into useful tactics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, finance or related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years with proven experience in Business Analytics in a B2C product organization
  • 5+ years with proven experience leading a team of diligent analysts
  • Consistent track record of successful metric-driven business impact
  • Expertise in building Insights decks and influencing decision makers by quantifying outcomes
  • Good communications skills across all levels of team members (business & technical)
  • An ability to break down and explain complex technical concepts to business end users
  • High level of precision and attention to detail
  • Very strong critical thinking and analysis skills; ability to take an ambiguous problem, use data-informed brainstorming, identify goals and clear metrics, and drive a team to deliver on those goals
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for inspiring change with a collaborative leadership style
  • Hands-on experience with data model development and reporting in Tableau
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills
