SUMMARY:
The Director, Corp Quality, Learning & Performance Program will lead, plan, standardize, and direct global and/or site L&P initiatives across all sites. This position will train and mentor sites in the concepts of adult learning design and effectiveness and the tools used, will work with Management to develop a strategy for the sites, and will foster a culture of error reduction by involving employees from all levels and all functions in the improvement activities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and vision to drive a learning performance culture by developing and implementing a Learning and Performance strategy aligned to business goals to achieve positive results for the organization.
  • Champion the cultural change to outcome and performance based learning tied to business outcomes.
  • Implement key learning processes such as needs assessment, performance consulting, adult learning principles, instructional design methods, and learning architecture to ensure learning outcomes and performance improvement outcomes correlate to business goals.
  • Facilitate alignment of global learning initiatives across sites to improve functional accountability, implementation, responsibility and maintenance for achieving learning outcomes and performance improvements.
  • Drive collaboration across the learning network and engage in cross-functional planning to leverage resources and get economy of scale.
  • Partner with L&P network peers at the operational sites to share and adopt best practices across the network to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop learning solutions to support key global business programs which support GMP operations such as technology introduction and ongoing use, operational excellence, investigation skills, front line leadership, aseptic practices and quality system application.
  • Identify the performance outcomes and business impact measurements to monitor learning effectiveness for key programs.
  • Establish resource-funding model for learning and performance programs. Establish shared services model and implement. Determine make vs buy decisions for learning solutions. Manage external vendors to deliverables.
  • Ensure and maintain the GMP training system to ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems for Pharmaceutical and Biotech manufacturing. Routinely interface with internal and external auditors to present the training QMS.

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in adult education, instructional design required. Masters or advanced degree in related education discipline preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 plus years' experience required.
  • Performance Consulting - Certified Performance Technologist certification highly desirable.
  • Direct experience leading or supporting corporate and site Learning & Performance organizations in a pharmaceutical or a regulatory industry is required.
