Director, Hematology Business Unit

Position Summary:

The Director Hematology BU has responsibility for a product portfolio which generates annual revenues of $30M which is expected to grow more than 8% per year. The position reports to the VP Diagnostic Reagents Division and is part of that leadership Team.

This position will have several direct reports and to drive business’ success, the other essential functions such as DRD Global Commercial and R&D, Minneapolis Site Operations, Supply Chain, Quality/Regulatory, HR and Finance are managed through a matrixed responsibility. However, the business leader is the primary driver of the Hematology BU team’s success

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize the business strategy for the Hematology Business unit that accelerates growth while improving the quality and costs.
  • Build out the global presence of the offing by cultivating an international expansion approach.
  • Responsible to set and meet or exceed the Hematology Business Unit Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
  • Cultivate and manage key partnerships with certain Key Accounts, Distributors, OEM customers and KOL’s.
  • Positively influence broader Bio-Techne strategies with divisional BU leaders and Bio-Techne Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) members.
  • Leverage the broader Bio-Techne assets to grow the business.
  • Drive growth via customer acquisition and product line expansion while expanding profitability.
  • Support strategic projects that strengthen Bio-Techne’s reputation in the marketplace.
  • Deliver results with new products and capabilities through rigorous project management
  • Accountable leader with ability to lead teams to overcome obstacles and optimize opportunities.
  • Responsible to create and drive Key Performance Indicators exhibiting strong financial acumen and operating mechanisms.
  • Drive business improvement through while prioritizing improving the way we support customers.
  • Builds a great team and great culture across BU and Division.
  • Attracts, engages, develops, and retains top talent at all levels of the organization.
  • Inspires, influences, and empowers employees across the matrix (both direct and indirect teams globally) to overachieve objectives.
  • Decisive leader with ability to lead and empower teams to develop impactful short and long-term strategies as well as action plans to drive results.

Education and Experience:

  • Required Bachelor’s Degree in scientific field with 5 to 8 years of managing people and/or process.
  • Preferred Master’s or PhD degree in scientific field and demonstrated work experience.
  • Relevant Experience: Knowledge of and working experience within the diagnostics industry. Experienced people manager who is comfortable working across functions
