Director of Market Access, Government Payors

BillionToOne's first product, UNITY™ is the first and only prenatal screen that directly assesses the baby's risk for common and severe inherited disorders such as cystic fibrosis, spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), and hemoglobinopathies from a single tube of blood from the pregnant mother.
BillionToOne is looking for a Director of Market Access, Government Payors to lead the development and implementation of selling strategies to gain access and acceptable reimbursement with State Medicaid, Medicare, GSA, Tricare, and other government payors. Reporting to the Vice President of Market Access, the Director of Government Access works with medical affairs, sales, marketing, laboratory operations, and other applicable company personnel to secure coverage and reimbursement for BillionToOne tests to maximize company sales. The Director of Market Access, Government Payors is a remote position, requires 40% travel, and reports to the VP of Market Access.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with government agencies and others as the primary executive interface between the company and government payors.
- Manage CMS, Medicaid, VA, and DoD (including TRICARE Management Activity) activities to ensure access and reimbursement through appropriate clinical education and relationship development.
- Act as lead for all internal State Medicaid efforts by aligning Marketing, Customer Service, Billing, and Sales initiatives.
- Maximize relationships with Medicaid programs to ensure appropriate coverage and reimbursement for company services.
- Develop and execute payor management strategies and formulate new initiatives to manage the growing demands of the marketplace.
- Monitors changes and business progress and advises BillionToOne management of results.
- Develop business plans for each account assigned; monitor and report progress monthly Acts upon final approval from the Vice President of Market Access.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 3 to 5 years experience in government account management, including experience in developing local coverage determinations.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Managed Care Account management.
- Experience in managing key customer or Market Access relationships, creating, and presenting strategic presentations to senior-level managers.
- Experience in developing, presenting, and closing complex business proposals.
- Ability to build cross-functional teams that share information and achieve positive results.
- Ability to manage multiple projects that are highly complex in nature and broad in scope.
- Competent in computer skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office programs such as Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
