Job Description:

  • Develops and manages Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, procedures and related training for the site.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc. regulations, licensing or permitting.
  • Serves as the primary emergency response coordinator under the site Emergency Action Plan.
  • Coordinates hazardous waste management (storage, labeling, inspection, disposal, etc.)
  • Reviews written safety programs/procedures annually and provides updates as needed.
  • Maintains site OSHA 300/300A logs.
  • Manages site respirator program (Assessment, training & fit testing).
  • Manages site hearing conservation program (testing/training).
  • Manages annual chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliance.
  • Conducts internal EHS/regulatory inspections (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Conducts JSA’s/hazard assessments.
  • Leads/assists with injury/incident investigations, root cause and corrective action.
  • Maintains prescription safety glass program.
  • Conducts industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Conducts ongoing EHS continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leads safety incentive and hazard awareness programs.
  • Liaises with HR regarding Workers’ Compensation.
  • Fulfills any other duties as identified by Regional Leader, Environmental, Health and Safety Management.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies:

  • Bachelors of Science in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental, health and safety programs.
  • Communicating and interacting effectively with Associates and Managers/.
  • Plan, organize, and control multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Strong in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Working Conditions:

  • May require occasional domestic travel.
