Information Management Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ANSER is offering an exciting career opportunity onsite at the Pentagon! Our team seeks an Information Management Analyst to conduct declassification reviews in support of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy (OUSD(P)). You will be expected to conduct the following types of reviews: Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR), Security Review (SR), and Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS). These often complex, line-by-line reviews of U.S. Government records will help OUSD(P) meet its legal requirements for the public release of information while ensuring that national security is protected.

Key tasks/activities include:

  • Analyze, research, and make the final recommendation on classified and unclassified records.
  • Perform a variety of information management reviews (declassification, FOIA, research, records management, security reviews).
  • Participate as a team member and also work independently to adjudicate decisions on documents (independent research is also required).
  • Research information and ask questions to make informed decisions.
  • Leverage professional experience such as intelligence, military, operational security, or foreign affairs training while executing job responsibilities.
  • Provide consistent feedback to other information management analysts.
  • Cross-train and support activities with other information management analysts.
  • Interact with the government client when necessary.
  • Coordinate with client and train users to ensure smooth implementation and functional performance of new systems, procedures, or organizations.
  • Develop and implement operational tests and assessments.
  • Develop and maintain functional and operating documentation.
  • Gather and organize information on problems or procedures, including present operating procedures.
  • May be asked to lead small ad hoc teams of short duration.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 6+ years’ of related work experience.
  • Strong understanding of classification, declassification, and FOIA exemption categories.
  • Recognize actual and possible nuclear weapons and intelligence information in all types of documents.
  • Ability to correctly apply appropriate review guidance.
  • Ability to understand and utilize appropriate document markings and proper document handling.
  • Applying proper records management techniques to ensure the integrity of reviewed material.
  • Analyzing data, develop information, and assess available solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Candidate must provide documentation to substantiate fully vaccinated status against the COVID 19 virus.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Degree in History, Political Science, International Affairs, Security Studies, or related field of study.
  • Current SCI eligibility.
  • Familiarity with government tasker management systems.
