International Affairs Decision Support Analyst

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION:
ANSER is seeking a Management Analyst to support a Decision Support Group focused on International Relations and Military Affairs. The Decision Support Group will provide analytical and operational support to the Director of Administration and Management for the Deputy Secretary of Defense and other senior DoD leaders. Individuals will provide meeting management, meeting execution, and senior leader stakeholder engagement and coordination. Successful candidates will have strong desire to analyze complex problems, an enthusiasm for supporting the DoD, and experience providing robust research on a broad range of topics. This position requires knowledge of responsibilities, functions, and operations of DoD organizations; demonstrated ability to communicate and work with senior executives across DoD; superior ability to communicate verbally and in writing; and the ability to work in a fast-paced environments with evolving direction.
Specific skills and experience include:
- Experience with DoD governance forums, meeting management and execution, and senior leader stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with strategy formulation, execution, and planning of DoD resources with a specific focus on US/Indo-Pacific relations.
- Knowledge of the organization and functions of OSD, the Joint Staff, the Military Departments, and the Defense Agencies and Field Activities.
- Extensive research experience including identification of authoritative sources, data gathering, analysis, and presentation of findings, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to logically present information and provide inputs to official written documents (memos, papers, strategies, etc.) in accordance with the DoD Manual for Written Correspondence.
- Demonstrated interest in examining complex business problems and offering innovative solutions.
- Familiarity with data informed decision-making, including conducting data analytics and developing meaningful data visualization.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work in support of DoD senior leaders.
- Defense related Science & Technology experience and/or background in the social sciences such as: political science, economics, geography, or sociology strongly preferred.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study plus at least 5 years’ experience providing services to senior general/flag officer ranks and/or SES levels within the DoD.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Active Top Secret/ SCI clearance required at date of hire.
- Ability to provide on-site support in the NCR, Monday through Friday, during core business hours of 8am-4pm. Potential for shift coverage to support earlier (0600-1400) or later (1000-1800).
- Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Professionalism, tact, and experience working with senior DoD leadership
- Ability to understand and summarize DoD policy positions clearly and persuasively.
- Experience drafting inputs to DoD senior executive decision documents based on thorough research.
- Candidate must provide documentation to substantiate fully vaccinated status against the COVID 19 virus.
