Junior Analyst Apprenticeship Program
Analytic Services Inc. (ANSER), is a not-for-profit corporation committed to enhancing the Nation’s security by helping decision-makers address complex issues such as science, technology, policy, governance, and performance, among others, within defense and homeland security fields. To provide continued, exceptional support in these fields, ANSER is hiring a cadre of junior analysts to assist in projects across all domains of ANSER interests. Hired junior analysts will have an opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills through training sessions and mentorship from a senior analyst. In addition to a bachelor’s degree, candidates must have a Master’s degree in a field related to national security and homeland security. Fields of particular interest include data sciences, engineering (in particular electrical, mechanical, industrial, and systems engineering) and policy sciences (e.g., political science, government, and international relations). Limited professional experience - with the exception of internships- is expected.
Detailed Description:
ANSER’s Junior Analyst Apprenticeship Program offers exciting opportunities to recent Master’s program graduates who have no or limited work experience, but want to focus on enhancing and applying analytic and business skills in support of critical National missions. During the apprenticeship, emphasis will be placed on developing critical professional competencies through execution of a range of technical and business-related tasks and activities; hands-on experience attained through rotations across the corporation; attendance to different technical trainings, lunch and learn sessions and other presentations; and one-on-one mentoring aimed at understanding ANSER’s culture, corporate operations, and professional requirements of working in a corporate environment and in support of government clients.
Requirements:
- DoD Secret security clearance eligibility
- Master’s degree with no or limited (maximum of 3 years) work experience
- Strong writing and speaking skills
- Proficiency in conducting research using open-source resources
- Experience with various qualitative and quantitative analysis methods from academic area of practice
- Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office tools
- Documentation to substantiate fully vaccinated status against the COVID 19 virus
Additional Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of national policy issues
- Experience with common data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, or other
- Understanding of relational databases such as MS Access or other database tools
- Understanding of HTML, XML and/or Java Applets
