JOB DESCRIPTION:
ANSER is seeking a Junior Logistics Management Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The OCIO develops and maintains a single, DHS-wide Information Technology (IT) infrastructure environment that is reliable, accessible, and secure, ensuring operational excellence from the workstation to the data center to the mission application. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a SME for program management, quality assurance, process improvements, and best practices to maximize operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Logistics Management Support team with the OCIO Facility Management project tasks and perform logistical and IT equipment coordination functions for multiple DHS OCIO locations.
- Provide technical and operational support to Project Managers (PM) on day-to-day operations.
- Provide input for the Project Status Reports (PSR) on the assessment of project performance, risks, costs, schedule, deliverables, action items, milestones, performance metrics, and other requirement metrics.
- Monitor, identify, analyze, evaluate program, project risks, project issues, and update the Risk Management Plan (RMP).
- Schedule, coordinate and facilitate meetings to apprise DHS OCIO, internal and external stakeholders of project performance, risks or process improvements.
- Analyze and make recommendations for logistics-related problems, in response to data calls and audit inquiries.
- Conduct testing of telecommunication and data peripherals to ensure live connectivity at appointed locations.
- Upload technical requirements and other document to a centralized repository or database for safekeeping.
- Author highly technical and user-friendly deliverables, requirement documents, reports, meeting minutes, manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Develop and facilitate logistics and supply chain management trainings on process and procedures and best practices for end-users, customers, team members, and OCIO staff.
- Utilize 508 Compliance Guidance, the Associate Press Style Guide, and Federal Government Standards for all deliverables.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics Management.
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Interpersonal skills with an aptitude for communicating technical issues to both peers and non-technical staff.
- Strong planning and organizational skills to ensure timely completion of all milestones and deliverables.
- Possess knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to Supply Chain Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI security clearance.
