Description

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for performing a variety of logistics and inventory tracking duties. Primary focus of this position is managing incoming and outgoing shipments of products, and pulling of inventory for customer and lab orders

Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming deliveries, materials, and supplies
  • Track all inbound and outbound packages
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
  • Deliver packages to local customers or airport, using a company vehicle.
  • Create and check all relevant documents
  • Stock materials and supplies in the proper storage and locations.
  • Load and unload skids using a forklift.
  • Liaise with customer logistics teams and couriers to ensure all is in place prior to shipment
  • Work with Operations team and Customer Service team to accurately assess the timeframe for shipments
  • Complete all Safety Training and participate in annual review training.
  • Comply fully with all applicable GMP, Safety, and Housekeeping Procedures Take physical inventories as required and maintain adequate records of all production.
  • Maintain inventory and freezer map locations.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials including, boxes, cartons, stickers, packaging, bags, etc
  • Prepare all paperwork for shipment, including, waybills and packing slips, and ensure all products are shipped accordingly, and on the day agreed upon with customer and CS team
  • Receive, manifest, and upload data for all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments meet specifications – including requirements of temperature sensitive product and dangerous goods
  • Communicate with Order Management and Customer Service on a daily basis to determine special shipment needs with daily orders and pull & ships
  • Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Utilize internal software applications as well as courier software for proper tracking of all inbound and outbound shipments
  • Arrange US Customs clearance and delivery details for all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Prepare US export documents
  • Troubleshoot shipment delays
  • Communicate shipment discrepancies internally immediately and track and report regularly on shipping metrics
  • Organize and maintain warehouse space (including waste removal, sweeping, mopping)
  • Assemble Biohazard boxes
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Prior shipping & receiving experience, and logistics preferred
  • Must be able to operate a forklift (Forklift license preferred)
  • Strong proficiency with Word and Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with an ERP system (inventory and order preparation software) a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift maximum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for a maximum of 60 minutes at a time
  • Be able to work on computer keyboard for extended periods

Working Conditions:

  • Contact with dry ice for extended periods of time
  • Regular work in walk in freezers (-20 deg C) and handling of dry ice.
  • May be required to handle biohazardous waste and coordinate pick up and removal
  • HepB vaccination is recommended
