Manufacturing Manager

Salary Range: 102K-155K depending on experience
Position Summary:
Manages the entire range of activities of the Manufacturing Laboratory, including scheduling, resource planning, inventory control, machine management, and personnel issues. Generally supports and assists line employees and other managers, and implements company plans and policies
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze daily production results and determine efficiency ratings.
- Timely and effective completion of manufacturing activities to support on time shipment of products.
- Review, monitor and address issues arising from Corrective Action Reports
- Review schedule updates weekly and requisition materials consistent with the accomplishment of schedule
- Support PM and Calibration procedures
- Provide support and assistance to other managers as needed
- Develop metrics and maintain continuous improvement based on results
- Enforces compliance of QSR, ISO, and OSHA within the department.
- Manages the writing and updating of documents.
- Supervise the validation of equipment and processes used in bulk processing.
- Reviews and approves all completed departmental batch records prior to QA review.
- Assist in the development and improvement of production processes.
- Supervises and supports housekeeping standards in manufacturing area.
- Review process and equipment capability to develop plans for continuous improvement.
- Develops and trains all personnel in the appropriate technical capacities.
- Supervise the day to day manufacturing operations and distributes manufacturing assignments.
- Develops and maintains a working production schedule in conjunctions with the production planner.
- Develop and adhere to expense and capital budgets. Work to lower expenses by implementing cost saving ideas.
- Meet corporate quality standards.
- Updates management about any challenges or delays in meeting production deadlines.
- Special projects and additional functions as required.
Management Duties
- Build an effective team. Maintain and encourage inter-departmental communication.
- Completes departmental goals on time and tracks results of changes.
- Develop, foster and implement company policies, plans, and continuous improvement efforts in the department
- Review and manage department scheduling and overtime. Develop labor standards and measure performance to standard
- Address all matters of discipline and termination relating to department employees.
- Prepare and provide the annual personnel evaluations as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong background in quality manufacturing principles
- Prior experience is Invitro Diagnostics industry or related field.
- Ability to manage people effectively
- Ability to show initiative and to perform in a multi-task environment
- Good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to work with personnel of all levels.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Experience in manufacturing management.
- BS degree required in Chemistry, Biology or related field.
- Experience leading cross functional teams and facilitating Continuous Improvement activities is needed
