Planning Manager

Salary Range: $115K-170K depending on experience
Position Summary:
Must be able to collaborate with the management team to help deliver and execute measurable and cost-effective results for our life science clients.
They will be expected to:
- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with procurement, sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments.
- Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of a manufacturing or production facility.
- Duties include developing daily production schedules, managing inventory to maintain appropriate levels, and coordinating the availability of raw materials for the production process.
- Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
- Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs
- Ensure conformance with all ISO requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Update quarterly production plan weekly
- Hold weekly instrument planning meetings
- Modify production plan when necessary to meet service level targets
- Notify OM whenever instrument lead times extend beyond standard lead times
- Monitor quarter to date shipments versus sales forecast, and communicate with business unit leaders
- Monitor quarter to date production plan adherence and communicate with manufacturing management if there are any concerns or questions
- Modify production plan based upon manufacturing capacity
- Modify production plan when Line Down Shortages are communicated by purchasing
- Participate in periodic Revenue Roll Call Meetings (Sales Forecasting) and make necessary modifications to the production plan
- Publish key metrics monthly and at quarter end, such as forecast accuracy and production plan adherence, $ and line backorders, with pareto analyses for “misses”.
- Maintain aggregate FRU (Field Replaceable Units – spare part assemblies) production plan to meet service level targets and constrain by production line capacity and material shortages
- Perform analyses as requested to help determine part availability for supply risk items and lead discussions on how to allocate parts between instrument and FRU production.
- Maintain instrument refurb plan constrained by production line capacity and material shortages
- Collaborate with query developers (supply chain analyst) to create/modify queries to improve planning process.
- Will assist with implementation of improved ERP/MRP systems.
- Communicate with other departments within the organization to identify efficiency issues, develop solutions, and implement changes
- Monitor and collect data on current operations, including scheduling, sourcing, warehousing, production, and delivery
- Evaluate and alert the internal team about supply risk. Propose and execute action plans to mitigate.
- Work with the procurement, logistics, materials management and IT departments to enhance service delivery
- Ensuring accurate analysis material availability to meet internal and external demand
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business management or related fields. Supply chain management certification is preferred
- Four or more years’ experience in a supply management role or related position.
- Proven knowledge of inventory management
- Experience analyzing business improvement

- Must have strong MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power BI skills or other
- Working knowledge of data analysis and forecasting tools and ability to develop actionable insights from data

- Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Extremely proficient with production planning systems, such as MRP II.

- Ability to build key cross-functional relationships as a key data analyst support partner
