Description/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the fulfillment of customer orders through the laboratory and providing day-to-day scientific support to the commercial team in the development of customer quotations for project-based tissue orders. Orders will include standard inventory products and custom projects that require a high level of lab services.
  • Support the commercial and laboratory operations teams by creating, shipping, and closing standard and custom work orders by following standard operating procedures. Key responsibilities include managing and meeting all timelines, driving a consistent laboratory workflow, accurately tracking orders and shipments, and creating, scheduling, and processing work order-related tasks through the laboratory.
  • Perform quality control review of all work orders to ensure requirements are met. This will include, but not be limited to, the review of H&E images, tumor purity, RNA quality scores, etc.
  • Identify and resolve any potential issues that may arise during order fulfillment.
  • Continuously update the commercial team and/or clients as appropriate and drive orders to completion.
  • Provide data analysis support to screen and select samples for customer projects.
  • Provide scientific support for project development and data analysis and coordinate with site managers to ensure the availability of material.
  • Liaise daily with operations to ensure incoming material is prioritized appropriately to fill open orders and projects are processed to schedule.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with the commercial team, laboratory operations, shipping & receiving, and IT team members.
  • Ensure completed projects are reviewed for opportunities to improve.

Position Requirements:

  • Required
  • B.S. in biology or related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects in a high-tech environment.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, internet research, etc.).
  • Preferred
  • Two (2) years of recent experience in a directly related clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong relationship-building experience (customer service or sales).
  • Experience using Salesforce and an ERP system.
