SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Project Management is responsible for all customer project activities and customer satisfaction, including leadership and development of the Project Managers at the AGC Boulder site. This position is located in Boulder CO. This is NOT a remote working position.
The position is expected to drive business growth in the AGC Boulder (BLD) site through a highly customer centric approach to project execution. This position will report directly to the global Vice President of Project Management and indirectly the Site General Manager for BLD. This role is fully responsible for developing and leading the local project teams to generate revenue and achieve individual and site goals. We are looking for a proven Project Management Director in Biopharmaceutical CDMO with great energy, leadership, and initiative to drive performance and grow our partnerships with our customers. This role works in in close collaboration with the Global Project Management Organization and site cross-functional teams.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the local project management group in Boulder, CO who are responsible for the site-specific project management client teams.
- Provide guidance in program direction for planning, organizing, developing and integrating projects across multiple functional areas across the Boulder site.
- Create and manage detailed project and portfolio plans to ensure clarity and attainment of milestones and timelines; develop mitigation plans as needed to achieve project deliverables.
- Develop and track project performance metrics, KPI's and develop plans to ensure metric achievement.
- Provide feedback to executive management of project and portfolio progress, scope changes and new business opportunities.
- Cultivate effective communication, cooperation and trust with clients.
- Achieve all global project management targets.
- Oversee and assist in the global management of project and portfolio progress, scope changes and new business opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Business Development to enhance customer experience in all regions
- Set, organize and diligently track global project management KPI's.
- Build and sustain positive, effective and trusting relationships and alliances, both internally and externally.
- Coordinate both internal and external technical, legal and/or financial due diligence activities regarding regional business opportunities, as needed.
- Provide market intelligence to Project Management group and relevant cross-functional teams.
- Represent the company at business meetings.
- Serve and/or facilitate pertinent Joint Steering Committees
- Service as the local PM representative on the BLD leadership team (LT)
- Accountable for accurate and timely execution and/or escalation of all activities of all client projects
- Mentor and train the Project Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure well planned and managed project
- Ensure appropriate process/systems exist for PMs to manage projects consistent basis
- Assign and re-assign PM work scopes to level the workload of each PMs
- Hire & retain PMs
- Provide long term and short term workforce planning based on site assumptions

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Project Management Skills: Demonstrated highly successful project management skills. Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills. Effective and efficient at managing multiple resources to get things done while maintaining a detail focus. Ability to work on multiple tasks at once without losing track, as well as foreseeing and planning around potential obstacles. A highly motivated self-starter, capable of hitting the ground running and excelling in a high growth, fast-paced and highly complex business environment. Demonstrated professional and consultative nature: able to listen well and deal calmly with sensitive and/or urgent situations. Very strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English. PMP certification is a plus
- MSAT Tech Transfer Skills: Extensive, large scale (<10K L) commercial project tech transfer experience with large scale commercial mammalian production. Effective development and utilization of campaign readiness checkoff lists and tracking tools. Experience in establishing successful engineering and transfer runs, cGMP and PPQ campaigns, CSA and PAI campaigns for commercialization. Long term forecast development and planning. Operational expertise in supply chain and sample management logistics.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors' Degree in relevant scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering) Masters' Degree preferable.
- Dynamic, hands on professional with 8+ years of proven success driving project management within the biologics CDMO or life sciences industry.
- Extensive small scale (<10K L) and large scale (>10K L) mammalian fermentation tech transfer experience required.
- Experience in contract negotiation required.
- Successful track record managing a high performing team and technical work force is preferred.
- Various experience and knowledge in biotech manufacturing is preferred.
- Overall Biopharmaceutical 15+ years of experience is required
