Senior Nuclear Mission Integration and Support Analyst

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION:

ANSER is seeking a senior analyst to provide mission integration support to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters (ODASD/NM). This support includes analysis of best method/s to advance NM position and ideas within OSD, Joint Staff, nuclear Combatant Commands, Secretary of Defense, National Security Council, President and Congress. This includes the development of the concepts and production of those materials necessary to bring the concepts to fruition.

Specifically, the analyst will:

  • Provide support and assistance to ODASD/NM in areas of planning, implementation, documentation, and management of current and future nuclear weapons strategy.
  • Provide assistance with programmatic issues concerning, DoD Reactors and Nuclear Energy, Nuclear Power, Intelligence, Strategic Materials, Nuclear Laboratory Weapon Systems, Emergency Response, Stockpile Transformation, Use Control, Nuclear Safety, and Nuclear Security.
  • Provide support to DASD(NM) transformation and process improvement and productivity goals and objectives, and includes continual refinement of the ODASD(NM) Vision/Mission statements and the associated goals necessary to achieve the stated vision/mission.
  • Provide studies and analyses in the conduct of support activities, many of which will be short duration, time-sensitive activities involving issues of a critical, delicate, and high-impact nature, which includes in-depth research and analysis of information in response to questions of US Nuclear policy, strategy, doctrine, and operations.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance; able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
  • Significant aptitude and interpersonal maturity to support DoD executive leadership senior with little supervision for sustained periods to build and preserve staff relationships
  • Proven analytical work in a high-visibility and high-tempo office setting
  • Proven ability to draft technically-oriented documents for senior policy decision makers on highly classified and complex scientific, engineering, and technical topics and subjects
  • Excellent writing skills and an in-depth knowledge of editorial principles and techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)/Joint Staff/Service Staff/Interagency environment
  • Knowledge of nuclear weapons systems and operations, nuclear weapons physical security and safety expertise, international nuclear cooperation programs expertise, nuclear forensics, and nuclear survivability
  • Exposure to a scientific, engineering, or technical field
