Shipping Specialist

This position is part of the Shipping/Receiving and Distribution department located in Fargo, ND and will be a fully onsite position. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. You will be a part of the Shipping/RG Materials team and report to the Manager of Shipping.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Complete foreign and domestic waybills, as required.
- Assure shipments conform to import/export requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and assemble and handle all materials in accordance to the established SOP’s.
- Communicate with internal departments to plan shipments.
- Maintain system accuracy and record transactions in Aldevron’s operating ERP Systems.
- Train new less experienced employees as assigned by department manager.
- Initiate corrective actions to improve established processes. Use knowledge and understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices as they apply to these responsibilities.
- Order materials for shipping needs.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- At least 2-year’s experience in a shipping environment
- Must have experience packaging and shipping sensitive items
- High School Diploma
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Knowledge of FedEx shipping software systems
- Experience with 3rd Party Logistics
- Hazardous Material Shipment Certification is preferred
