Sourcing Manager
The primary objective for this position is to source open inquiries for disease state material, document plan, obtain pricing and communicate completed plan to our Product Support Specialist team for the quoting process. Primarily liaison with the clinical research coordinators, assist in expediting sample collections and to develop a strategy to fulfill orders, assist our team in tracking order progress, and communicate detailed updates to our Product Support Specialist team. The ideal candidate can work independently, under pressure and balance competing priorities in a results-oriented work environment.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Learn and maintain knowledge of all products and services offered
- Working knowledge of all clinical sites, related medical specialties and protocol requirements
- Communicate effectively and strategically with our internal clinical site research coordinators and suppliers to quickly determine feasibility, pricing and lead-times for materials
- Work closely with our own internal clinical division to develop plans to fulfill each project; document plan
- Proactively provide daily update for all open inquires to the requesting Product Support Specialist
- Attend meetings with Product Support Specialist to discuss open inquiries and develop a plan to fill each request
- Compile questions to be addressed as well
- Meet with and review higher level open inquiries with Director of Clinical Sites
- Identify potential outside suppliers; build and maintain a professional relationship with new and existing contacts
- Manage outstanding inquiries and document progress throughout the process
- Write and distribute a summary of open requests for each contact to expedite the sourcing process
- Research components of inquiries, collection procedures, subject criteria and accessibility
- Communicate with collection sites and Research Coordinators to obtain feasibility, access to subjects and anticipated lead-times
- Determine pricing and lead-times utilizing tools and knowledge for common products
- Proactively follow up open inquiries in a professional yet persistent and efficient manner
- Review new orders with the Project Manager. Coordinate placement of kits with the Research Coordinators in the field
- Establish relationships in tandem with Research Coordinators with network sites to get sourcing and kit placement accomplished in an efficient manner
- Proactively work with Research Coordinators to redirect kits as needs in order to meet our collection goals
- Review open orders bi-weekly with the Project Managers to assess and strategize collection goals
- Act as a liaison between the Research Coordinators for complicated projects requiring coordination across the network
- Communicate with Director of Clinical Sites to review additional site’s needed, request that are not covered under the existing protocols, and other growth opportunities that arise
- Assume the Research Coordinator role for the remnant program for in network reference labs for the for both disease state and operational material requests
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required
- Clinical Research Coordinator, experience a plus
- 3+ years in client relations, site coordination, or biotechnology manufacturing

- Ability to work as a team yet be self-motivated and self-directed
- Highly motivated, organized and fast paced
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com a plus
- Office experience in the medical or research field
- Strong interest in medical research administrative functions
