Specialist Supervisor
Job Purpose and Requirements
The Specialist Supervisor-COE is responsible to oversee the designated Specialty Services activity, equipment and/or system maintenance and repair services. The position is responsible for the management and coordination of COE personnel within assigned territory. They are also expected to provide logistic and technical support for District and Corporate Initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Specialty Services staff; prioritize and assign equipment repairs, schedule maintenance and lead the team with Specialty Service Initiatives to meet company needs
- Achieve monthly sales objectivesEnsure ISO Quality Management System is adhered to by Technical Staff
- Work closely with technicians to identify process and policy improvement areas
- Provide leadership and ensure proper staffing through completing the Hiring, Recruiting, Terminating, Reviews, Job Performance and Goals for assigned area and personnel
- Provide technical training to technical staff in areas such as: equipment operation and checkout, repairs, preventative maintenance, quality assurance practices, procedures, and documentation
- Assist / Support Technical Staff Training Initiatives
- Ensure compliance with pertinent regulatory agencies, policies, codes, standards, and regulations that apply to clinical equipment and/or systems maintained
- Participate in hazard identification and medical device reporting procedures to help ensure that the patient care environment is safe
- Maintain effective customer relations and customer protocol while conducting all business exchanges
- Participate in special projects as needed
- Assist Manager as needed

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical literature, manuals, electrical / pneumatic schematics and technical drawings
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance, calibration and repairs on most medical equipment, with an area of Specialty Service on equipment and/or systems which supports company needs
- Ability to instruct customer personnel on safe equipment operation when necessary
- Good Troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

- Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs
Background Requirements:
- Two year Associate’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent technical program
- Preferred Certification by the International Certification Commission as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)
- Three to five years experience in the Biomedical Equipment field
- Two to three years experience in related Specialty Service Field which supports company needs
